Originally an entity of the Amarillo Area Foundation, the Harrington Regional Medical Campus is a non-profit organization responsible for the orderly development of the medical campus in Amarillo, free of bias and devoted to planning for the future medical needs of area residents.

The Harrington Regional Medical Campus became a supporting organization of the Foundation in 2015. Reuniting the two organizations better accommodates the Foundation’s goal to bring world-class healthcare to the Panhandle.

The Don and Sybil Harrington Foundation was founded as a trust in Amarillo in 1951 by oilman Donald D. Harrington and his wife, Sybil Buckingham Harrington. It became a non-profit corporation in 1971 and became a supporting organization of the Amarillo Area Foundation in 1988. It is a broad-purpose private foundation directed by a seven-member board. Its interests include hospitals and health care agencies, cultural programs, higher education, youth agencies, social services, and civic affairs.

This Canadian landmark was built in 1910 as the First Baptist Church. In 1977, Therese and Dr. Malouf Abraham purchased the building and converted it into their family residence. After 30 years of serving as their home, the Abrahams donated the mansion, the art, and the gardens as a public art museum, known as The Citadelle Art Foundation to share their art with generations to come.

Through art, we document the greatest potential of our own humanity, and this partnership with the Amarillo Area Foundation helps educate Texas Panhandle residents, as well as provide them with a wider range of experiences.
